Good deals abound at YMA’s holiday sale

Need an apron for the next time you bake muffins with Yates Mill cornmeal? How about a nicely packaged batch of straws to test your cakes? Or an attractive pin for your lapel depicting our favorite colonial mill?

These and many other items were on sale at Yates Mill Associates’ annual holiday sale in early December. We offer items for sale most of the year at our corn-grinding weekends, but turn out a few special gifts for this pre-Christmas sale.

In addition to our hats, jewelry, coffee mugs and T-shirts — and, of course, cornmeal — this year we offered soapstone coasters, whisks, straw pot-scrapers and cake testers, locally made honey, and full-length aprons.

YMA volunteers were on hand all day at the visitors’ center at Yates Mill County Park to sell our wares and talk to guests about the work our organization does to keep this historic gristmill running.

We hope you were able to drop by. If not, we still have a few of each item for sale. And of course, we have cornmeal. Send an email for information about availability and prices. If you have a specific item in mind, let us know. We can arrange to have items ready for pick-up at the park or, if necessary, mail them to you.
