Holiday cheer – and gifts – for sale on Dec. 8

Still doing your holiday shopping? Why not buy a fun gift for your sweetheart, kids or friends and help support Yates Mill at the same time?

Join us from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Historic Yates Mill County Park for the annual Yates Mill Associates holiday sale! We’ll have our traditional gifts of cornmeal, cookbooks, shirts and other souvenirs as well as more of the handicrafts you admired this fall at the Harvest Festival. Please bring cash or a check — we’re not yet able to take credit or debit payments.

You can stock up on two-pound bags of Yates Mill cornmeal for your holiday baking or to give as a gift to your foodie friends. Buy a Yates Mill Associates cookbook if they need delicious ideas, a YMA mug for their hot chocolate and — new this year — YMA tea towels to wipe up any spills. We’ve put some of these items and more into gift baskets if you need a little extra inspiration.

In addition, we’ll have more attractive crafts made and donated by our wonderful volunteers. Stop by to see an array of crocheted children’s hats, scarves and handbags, or pick up a crayon carrier or child-size placemat set.

We haven’t forgotten the adults — there will be warm scarves for them as well as earrings, Seagrove pottery, ornaments, soaps, wall hangings and other decor. And be sure to check out matted original photos of Yates Mill scenes and a variety of woodcraft including bird houses, canes and more.

If you want to be sure to get enough cornmeal, you’re welcome to place an order by sending an email to We’ll put your order aside for pick-up on Dec. 8.

Mill tours may have ended for the year, but there’s always something fun to do at Yates Mill — and park staff promise they’ll have family activities on Dec. 8 as well. So stop by — we look forward to seeing you at the holiday sale!
