Come see us at Yates Mill!

Is it really the end of February already? It’s hard to believe for a lot of folks, and certainly for us at Yates Mill Associates, given how busy we’ve been this winter.

Though it’s seemed quiet at Historic Yates Mill County Park, we’ve been plenty busy getting ready for your visit. Our mill has a bright new roof, we’ve made other important repairs (read our earlier blog posts for details) and we’ve worked with park staff on new options for tours this year.

Tours – that’s the magic word, isn’t it? And, in fact, it’s tour time!

Yates Mill will once again be open to the public next Saturday, March 2. And we’re experimenting with a new type of tour to accommodate those of you who came to take a weekend tour and, unfortunately, missed the start time.

On March 9, 23 and 30 (all Saturdays), we’ll offer tours every half-hour from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. That’s FIVE opportunities to see the inside of historic Yates Mill!

For those of you who like the complete historic narrative and walk through the park with our guides, we’ll still offer the hour-long Mill Heritage Tour on Sundays at 2 p.m. Get the precise details on our Tours page.

All tours are available for a $5 donation to Yates Mill Associates ($4 seniors, $3 for kids 7-16 and free for kids 6 and under). These donations are critical to our fundraising for mill restoration and repair – you can visit Yates Mill and help keep it standing at the same time!

Historic Yates Mill County Park is entering its seventh season of operation, and we’re eager to keep things fresh and entertaining for our visitors. So please come out and take a tour, and then let us know what you think of our new ideas.

We’re excited to begin another season at Yates Mill, and we look forward to seeing you there!
